When it comes to red eye makeup, a lot of women will no doubt be sceptical, but I’m talking less bruised and bloodshot, more bejewelled and beautiful. Bold, fiery red eyes could be seen all over the catwalk (above at Donna Karan), but I've put my own twist on the trend and gone for something a little more glamorous, reminiscent of the Hollywood beauties of the 50s and 60s, using my NEW Polychromatic Eyeshadow in Lava, a fabulous metallic ruby red. I've teamed it with Burnt Sand to create a beautiful warm smokey eye.

You can also use Lava with a fine wet brush to create a precise graphic line - when wet it creates a beautiful foil effect finish. Wing it out at the edges for a very Sophia Loren look.

Brunettes should use Lava shadow in brows to define and complement the eye makeup, whereas for Marilyn Blondes should run Burnt Sand shadow through brows for a sun-kissed sunset-boulevard finish.

If you're worried about your eyes appearing bloodshot choose a really dark eye liner like my Waterproof Brown Velvet which is like bitter chocolate and makes the whites of your eyes appear brighter.
