Daniel Sandler, AKA “the Patron Saint of Blusher”, is an international makeup artist and the founder of Daniel Sandler Cosmetics. Daniel is the creative force behind the brand’s iconic products, including the multi award-winning and cult Watercolour Liquid Cheek Colour.
After training in makeup and hair at the London College of Fashion, Daniel was lucky enough to meet Mary Quant, who was instrumental in helping him start his career. His father, David Sandler, was a well-known London society hairdresser, who introduced Daniel to his friend and colleague Vidal Sassoon. Doors began to open and he was soon working for top hair salons and fashion designers creating make up looks for their shows and shoots.
Over the years, Daniel has worked internationally on a number of shoots with high profile fashion photographers for top glossies, and with designers backstage at a number of major fashion shows, as well as being a regular on national TV. Throughout his career he has worked with many famous faes, including Naomi Campbell, Rachel Weisz, Kristen Scott Thomas and Kate Moss, and he continues to work with high profile clients and celebrities getting them ready for red carpet events, TV appearances, etc.
After gaining experience as the UK brand ambassador for Bourjois, Daniel decided to change direction and create his own range. Daniel spent over four years developing his multi award-winning, highly innovative and globally acclaimed brand, drawing from his experience as a professional makeup artist, creating a completely fool-proof range of creams, liquids, glosses, serums, stains and tools. His mission statement is to “be your most beautiful” and his range provides a woman with her ‘wardrobe of colour’ with a multi-purpose, hybrid product offering, that ultimately simplifies makeup for all skin tones, with the addition of skincare benefits.
Daniel says, "I was working on shoots where I needed make up to stay in place because I was either in a hot sunny climate and on a beach where make up runs, or I would be doing shoots where the model was in a swimming pool or a shower and I needed the make up to be long-lasting. There were no blushers around at the time that ticked the boxes - so to speak - therefore I knew that there was a gap in the market. The very first product I created was my Watercolour liquid blusher, which was born out of a need to have a product that blended easily and was both long-lasting & water resistant, in a plethora of shades."
Daniel Sandler’s products are regularly featured by top beauty editors and beauty bloggers, as well as being loved by some of the world’s renowned makeup artists such as Lisa Eldridge, Mary Greenwell and Pixiwoo.
